I was given an ARC through Netgalley on this book. Reading the
description my interest was piqued as they rattled off romance, wine, food, and
Italy. A fast-paced read, “Margherita’s Recipes for Love” begins with
Margherita’s life basically falling apart. When Margherita learned that her
husband has been cheating on her for over a year, she packs up and heads back
to her rural hometown and to her father Armando. Over time, she forms a
connection with the cut-throat businessman Nicola through food and witty
banter. However, the relationship has its own hurdles to overcome as Margherita
and Nicola’s different personalities clash.
Interestingly, this book has been previously published under a different name, "Margherita's Notebook: A Novel of Temptation" with different publishers.

Reading
the description, I was excited to start this book about a romance in Italy. It
was a lighthearted, quick-paced read. Right off the bat, I disliked the
husband. He was a whiny child who expected his wife to not just be his wife,
but also his mother, his cook, and his housekeeper. Thankfully, Margherita is a
strong, likeable, and spirited woman. Using food and the cooking skills she
learned from her late mother, Margherita builds a new life in her old town. The
beautiful descriptions of food throughout the book brought the characters and
the lackluster dialogue to the next level. I thought that while it was a bit
predictable and not particularly memorable, “Margherita’s Recipes for Love” was
a cute and colorful romance story that I would recommend. 3/4 Stars.
